An art object using elements of a rope park conquered all of Europe. Argentinian artist and designer Tomas Saraceno created a giant aerial installation “In Orbit”. At a height of more than 30 meters above the Stendehaus K21 museum square in Düsseldorf, visitors are offered a walk among the clouds, defying gravity.
The art object “In Orbit” consists of a large number of transparent and mirror spheres of various sizes and elements of rope parks (safety net, ropes and cables). It is a completely safe and modern structure with an area of 2,500 square meters, weighing 3,000 kilograms, the largest sphere is 8.5 meters in diameter and weighs 300 kg. “On Orbit” consists of three levels connected to each other and exits to the balconies of the Stendehaus Museum.
Thanks to the use of special materials, which are often used in the construction of rope parks, it became possible to achieve the effect of “human flight”. If you watch from the first floor, you get the impression that people are just floating in the clouds of the endless sky.
